The Anegada Rock Iguana Rehabilitation Project, founded in 1997, and the World Conservation Union Iguana Specialist Group, are working to save them. My three year old and I were reading a book on lizards last night and I learned that the Sphaerodactylus ariasae, the smallest lizard in the world, lives on the British Virgin Islands. It’s less than an inch long and was first discovered in 1965. You can read more about it or see more pictures.
